It’s amazing where you sometimes find Classic Cars on display. Just last week it was Harpenden, a small town north of London, which saw the annual Classics on the Common taking over the village green with classic cars from all eras.
To make things perfect, it was a beautiful early autumn day with the sun shining on gleaming paint and chromework.
Amazingly, the whole thing was organised by the local Rotary Club, with all proceeds going to local charities. The event had the feel of a village fete, but with cars and was thoroughly enjoyable.
Everything from almost prosaic Fords and Vauxhalls, to collections of vintage Rolls Royce and Bentleys to an exquisite Ferrari 330 LMB were on show.
This was the first car show I attended since the whole Covid thing happened and it wasn’t a bad way to start.
