There’s a new Range Rover on the way and it will be visiting Land Rover showrooms around the country all through April before its official launch in the summer.
New from the ground up, the car comes with mild hybrid technology and with PHEV options offering an EV driving range of up to 113km, enough for many drivers to get through the day on battery power alone. The PHEV models offer CO2 emissions as low as 18g/km and preview a full electric model, set to be launched in 2024. By the end of the decade, the plan is for every model in the range to come with a full EV powertrain option.
The PHEVs even offer 50kW rapid charging, enabling them to charge up to 80% in under an hour, making a short stop over lunch a practical proposition, not always the case with a plug in hybrid.
The P510e is the most powerful PHEV option on offer and it combines a 38kWh battery with a 105kW motor ad a 3.0 litre six cylinder engine to give performance of 0-100km/h in just 5.6 seconds.
Along with the PHEV offerings, in P440e and P510e spec, there will also be a range of six cylinder mild hybrid petrol and diesel engines and an all new V8 for the top of the range model.
Both long and short wheelbase models are available with a choice of four, five or seven seat configurations.
Trim options will include SE, HSE and Autobiography models and there will be an exclusive First Edition available for the first year of production, with extra equipment.
The Range Rover is available to order now, with a starting price from €146,000 for a 3.0 litre PHEV short wheelbase model in SE trim.
