Škoda have announced details of their new Elroq EV SUV, which is available to order from October 7th, with deliveries starting from next year. A very competitive starting price of €36,545 makes this an attractive option in the segment.

The Elroq is actually priced below the similarly sized Karoq, Škoda’s ICE offering in the compact SUV segment, making for an interesting inter-family rivalry.

Battery and range

There are three battery sizes on offer, with different powertrains also. The entry model 50 comes with a 125kW motor and a range of 370km. Next up is the 60 with a range of 440km and the top-spec Elroq 85 has a maximum range of 560km. All three are rear wheel drive with a 4wd 85x due in late 2025.

A charging rate of 175kW is supported on the biggest 82kWh battery, with the two smaller versions offering slightly slower charging speeds.

The Elroq is also the first Škoda to take on the firm’s new design language, Modern Solid, with the usual Škoda face being replaced by a gloss black ‘Tech-Deck’ and a more defined front bumper. There’s also a dark chrome insert while the lighting signature has been reinterpreted.

This is the first car to feature Škoda lettering on both the bonnet and steering wheel.

The result is a drag coefficient of 0.26, maximising range and efficiency.

Featuring the largest boot in its class at 470 litres, this can be expanded to 1,580 litres with the seats folded down. A lot of the interior is made from recycled plastics, reducing the car’s carbon footprint.

Standard equipment includes a 13” infotainment screen and a range of interior compartments offering a total of 48 litres of storage. There’s even a storage net for the charging cable under the parcel shelf.

A wide range of driver assistance systems and up to nine airbags are also on offer, as is remote air-conditioning, a rear view camera, Crew Protect Assist and Side Assist.

Pricing

The Elroq 50 starts from €46,545 with the mid-tier 60 priced from €38,416. The current top of the range 85 is priced from €42,315. All prices are after rebates and delivery charges have been applied.

Sportline versions will also be available from launch.

First customer deliveries are expected in April 2025.
