Salon Privé is a wonderful mix of car show and garden party but this year, there was a twist. Instead of the usual Concours d’Elégance with beautiful cars, old and new, there was a Concours de Vente, with beautiful cars, old and new, but every one was for sale.
Dealers throughout the UK and beyond brought some of their choicest stock to display on the grounds of Chelsea’s Royal Hospital.
In addition, there were a good number of manufacturers present, with a variety of launches and débuts of the latest and greatest.
In honour of the Jubilee year, a parade of 70 Minis drove around the grounds, ending the display parked in ‘70’ formation on the grass, although it took them quite a while to arrange them all.
There was even a chance to see some of the cars in action as they were paraded around the grounds on a sweltering hot day.
