Škoda have released pricing and specifications for their fourth generation Superb, which will again be available as a hatchback and estate when it arrives at dealers from May.
More space and comfort is promised, along with the most up to date technology. A 13” entertainment screen features while materials are made from 100% sustainable sources.
The range starts with a 1.5 litre TSI mild hybrid petrol and the familiar 2.0 litre TDI diesel also makes an appearance.
Both of these offer outputs of 150bhp and there will be no manual gearbox offered, with all models fitted with DSG double clutch autos. Fuel economy is a claimed 5.4 l/100km for the TSI with the diesel coming in at 5.1 l/100km. In common with all Škodas produced in the last few years, the TDI is fully compatible with HVO, the sustainable alternative to diesel fuel.
Accommodation and Equipment
Although the wheelbase remains unchanged from the outgoing model, both bodystyles are longer and taller than before. The Combi estate has 690 litres of boot space, expanding to 1,920 with the rear seats folded down. The price walk from hatchback to Combi is €2,000.
Three trim levels are on offer with the base Selection model offering keyless entry and an electrically operated boot. Selection Plus adds heated and ventilated seats and ambient interior lighting. The top of the range Laurin & Klement will offer even greater specifications and an additional SportLine trim will arrive on time for early 2025 deliveries.
LED matrix beam headlights are optionally available and the most advanced Dynamic Chassis Controls are also a feature of the new car.
The gear selector can now be found on the steering column, tidying up the centre console area. A head up display is also available as an option, with new Škoda Smart Dials making their début, offering quicker access to vehicle and infotainment functions.
Pricing
Option packs, dubbed Design Selections, are on offer with other options available individually, including inductive 15 watt fast phone charging, Ergo seats with massaging cushions and an electrically operated load cover for the Combi estate.
Prices start from €48,325 for the 1.5 litre mild hybrid, with the TDI just €500 more.
More than 1.6 million Superbs have been sold since its introduction in 2001. In Ireland, it’s been the best selling car in its segment for the last seven years, with over 9,000 customers so far.
